Nicola and Jacopo were very young but still author reffered to them as two gentlemen because of their maturity. They were very small but then also they were mature enough to understand each and every situation. At the age of 12 and 13 they were engaged in multiple professions like selling fruits, polishing shoes, tourist guides, newspaper sellers etc..just for earning money for their sister's treatment who was suffering from Tuberculosis of the Spine...... Their circumstamces lead them to work and earn money at such a small age and thus they were reffered to as Two Gentlemen Of Verona.....
