Given:

Nidhi bought two powder packs each costing rupees 238.90, one dress for rupees 578.50, 3 lipsticks each costing rupees 180 .25

She had only 1000 rupees with her

To find:

How much more money did she need to pay the bill?

Solution:

Cost of 2 powder packs = 2 × Rs. 238.90 = Rs. 477.80

Cost of 1 dress = Rs. 578.50

Cost of 3 lipsticks = 3 × Rs. 180.25 = Rs. 540.75

∴ Total amount on the bill = 477.80 + 578.50 + 540.75 = Rs. 1597.05

But Nidhi had only Rs. 1000 with her

∴ To pay the bill, she needs = Rs. 1597.05 - Rs. 1000 = Rs. 597.05 more

Thus, Nidhi needs Rs. 597.05 more to pay the bill.
