Yes, he is correct.
God knows what he has to do. He manages this vast universe so perfectly that it can't be understood by us. He manages lives of all the creatures on Earth and also of other planets.
But Einstein would be having some particular reason for saying that statement which we don't know. Therefore, truly we can't take anyone's side.
