Hi ,
Let the total number of students who cast their votes = x
Nikhil's secured votes in the election = 55 %
Jack's secured votes in the election = ( 100 - 55 ) % = 45 %
difference of the votes cast = ( 55 - 45 ) % = 10 %
according to the problem given ,
10 % of total votes cast = 50
10 / 100 × x = 50
x = ( 50 × 100 ) / 10
x = 5000 /10
x = 500
∴ Total number of students who cast their votes = x = 500
Let the total number of students who cast their votes = x
Nikhil's secured votes in the election = 55 %
Jack's secured votes in the election = ( 100 - 55 ) % = 45 %
difference of the votes cast = ( 55 - 45 ) % = 10 %
according to the problem given ,
10 % of total votes cast = 50
10 / 100 × x = 50
x = ( 50 × 100 ) / 10
x = 5000 /10
x = 500
∴ Total number of students who cast their votes = x = 500
