Let the cost of one pen be x and cost of one book be y.

A.T.Q

2x+5y=110..............(1)
6x+8y=190.............(2)
By elimination.
multiplying 6 in equ. 1
and multiplying by 2 in equ. 2

12x+30y= 660....1 ( on subtracting 2 from 1)
12x+16y=380........(2)

14y= 280
y=280/14
y=20

putting the value of y in equ. 1
2x+5y=110
2x+5(20)=110
2x+100=110
2x=110-100
2x=10
x=5

Therefore one pen cost Rs. 5 and one book cost Rs. 20.
