at the market :                                                          at the grocery shop:

rice: 10 kg                                                                    carrots: 6 kg

sugar: 4 kg                                                                    potatoes : 3 kg

onion: 3 kg                                                                    add them up and we get

add them , and we get 17 kg                                             9 kg

now subtract 9 from 17

we get 8kg
