Solution :-

Let us assume that, Nisha had Rs. x in the beginning.

So,

→ She spent on watch = Rs. 56

then,

→ Left amount = Rs. (x - 56)

now,

→ She spent on books = Rs. (1/3)(x - 56)

then,

→ Left amount = (x - 56) - {(1/3)(x - 56)} = Rs. (2/3)(x - 56)

A/q,

→ (2/3)(x - 56) = (x/2)

→ 4(x - 56) = 3x

→ 4x - 224 = 3x

→ 4x - 3x = 224

→ x = Rs. 224 (Ans.)

Hence, Nisha had Rs. 224 in the beginning .
