Nisha swims in a 100m pool and covers 200m in 1hr 20 minutes from one end to other and back along the same path find the average speed and average velocity for the whole journey

Length of pool = 100m

Total time taken = 1 min + 40s = 60s + 40s = 100s

Total distance covered by Neha = 200m

Therefore, the total displacement covered by Neha = 0m

[Because she swims from one end of the pool to the other and back along the same straight path, to her original position.]

Now, According to the question-

Average speed = total distance/ total time taken = 200 m/100 s  =   2 m/s

                                       

Average velocity = total displacement/ total time taken  = 0m/ 100 s = 0m/s
