QUESTION :-

Nita walks from her house 160 meters north and from there 630 meter west to visit her friend . while coming back , she walked diagonally from her friend's house back to her home . what distance did she walk by coming back ?

ANSWER :-

650 m

STEP BY STEP SOLUTION:-

( see the figure )

According to question we have to find = SF

OF = 630 m

OS = 160 m

SF = ?

By Applying Pythagoras Theorem ,

SF² = OS² + OF²

SF² = 160² + 630²

SF² = 25600 + 396900

SF² = 422500

SF = 650 m

So , distance Nita walk while coming back =

650m
