then number of pencil =108-X
now,
5×X+(108-X)×2.50=345
5X+108×2.5-2.5X=345
5X+270-2.5X=345
5X-2.5X=345-270
2.5X=75
X=75/2.5
X=30
Number of pen=30
and number of pencil=108-30
=78
