For example x is the salary of Nitin
It is reduced by 10%
x-10%
then increased by 10%
x-10%+10%=x
X is the nitin's new salary
it means neither increased nor decreased

Let, his previous salary be 'y'

∴ 10% of y = y×(10/100)

                 = y/10

∴ After reducing his salary becomes = y-(y/10)

                                                             = (10y -y)/10

                                                             = 9y/10

∴ 10% of 9y/10 = (9y/10) ×(10/100)

                        = 9y/100

∴ His present salary = (9y/10)+(9y/100)

                                  = (90y+9y)/100

                                 = 99y/100

∴ His new salary is 99y/100
