The time taken by Nitin to reach his home is 30 minutes.

Given:

Nitin walks at 3/4 of his usual speed and reaches his home 10 minutes late

To find:

Find the usual time taken by him to reach his home.

Solution:

Let Nitin's initial speed is 'x' km per hour and 't' be the original time

As we know Distance = Speed × Time

Distance traveled by Nitin = x × t

Given that Nitin walks at 3/4 of his speed and reaches 10 mins late

Nitin's speed = 3/4(x) = 3x/4

Time taken to travel = (t + 10)

Distance travelled = 3x/4 (t + 10)

As we know the distance cannot be changed in both cases

=> x × t =  3x/4 (t + 10)

=> t = 3(t + 10)/4

=> 4t = 3t + 30

=> t = 30

Therefore,

The time taken by Nitin to reach his home is 30 minutes.
