N - 1s2 2s2 2p3
P - 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p3
N is more electronegative element then P

Electronic configuration : Nitrogen - K2 L5,
Phosphorus - K2 L8 M5. Among them, Nitrogen is more electronegative than phosphorus because On moving down a group, the number of shell increases. Therefore, the valence electrons move away from the nucleus and the effective nuclear charge decreases. This causes the decrease in the tendency to attract electron and hence electronegativity decreases.
