NITROGEN DOES NOT FORM PENTACHLORIDE DUE TO ABSENCE OF d ORBITALS . BUT d ORBITAL IS PRESENT IN PHOSPHORUS SO IT CAN EXPAND ITS ORBITAL TO FORM PENTACHLORIDE.
