nitrogen is an essential nutrient for plant growth but farmer who cultivate pulse crop like green, bengal gram etc, do not apply nitrogens fertilizers during cultivation why?

Because,The nitrogen fixing Rhizohium bacteria live in the root nodules of leguminous plants. That's why farmers don't add nitrogen fertilizers in pulse crops.
