Nitrogen is an essential nutrient for plant growth. But the farmers who cultivate pulse crops green gram, Bengal gram, black gram etc., do not apply nitrogenous fertilizers during cultivation. Why?

farmers who cultivate pulse crops such as green gram,Bengal gram,black gram etc.do not apply nitrogenous fertilizers during cultivation becoz a bacteria called rhizobium is present in the roots of such crops.Which turns atmospheric nitrogen into compounds of nitrogen.
