Nitrogen is an essential nutrients for plants growth but farmers who cultivate pulse crop like green gram Bengal gram black gram exactra do not apply nitrogenous fertilizers during cultivation why??

because pulses are leguminous plants they have a bacteria on their root nodule which converts atmospheric nitrogen into nitrogenous compounds which was later observed by plant

they can gain enough nitrogen

hey, as much as i know the pulse crops/ leguminous plants  have bacteria[ rhizobium] which fixes atmospheric nitrogen to nitrogenous compounds . the bacteria is present in the root nodules of the plant hence farmers dont need to add nitrogenous fertilizer to the soil.
