nitrogen is essential nutrient for plant growth.but farmers who cultivate pulse like green gram,bengal gram,black gram etc. do not apply nitrogeneous fertilizers during cultivation. why?

Because these plants like gram , rice are lumiñous plants which have bacteria like riobium which converts the atmospheric nitrogen into nitrates which then utilized by the plants .

Yes nitrogen is necessary for plant growth but when farmer plant pulses the root of pulses contain rizobium which is help in nitrogen fixation. that's why we don't apply nitrogeneous fertilizer during cultivation
