Nitrogen is called as the makers of leaf because nitrogen is one of the major costituents of chlorophyll which is used by the plants to prepare their food by the process of photosynthesis.
Nitrogen is also a main pat of proteins and plants will die if they do not get proteins.
ATP also has nitrogen in it which is responsible for production of energy in the plants.
The genetic material of plants also has nitrogen as its component.
Because of these reasons, nitrogen is termed as leaf makers.
