Answer:

Complete answer:

Macronutrients- the nutrients which are required by the body in large amounts are called macronutrients. Some of the macronutrients are required to form carbohydrates proteins, nucleic acid and many other components. Example- The major nutrients which are required by the plant are nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. (NPK), carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, calcium, magnesium and sulfur.

Deficiency of any of these nutrients adversely affects the plant growth and leads to stunted growth or other malfunctions like yellowing of the leaves frangula alnus, chlorosis seen in the sweet gum leaf slow growth and cell death.

Micronutrients- The nutrients which are required by the body in small amounts are called micronutrients.

Example- The minor nutrients that are micronutrients which are also required by the plants are zinc, boron manganese, copper, iron, chlorine, nickel, sodium, silicon, molybdenum, cobalt.

Deficiency of boron causes buds to die back whereas copper leads to browning of leaves.

Iron deficiency results in chlorosis and also zinc can cause slow growth.

Zinc is very precious because it helps in the production of plant hormone which is responsible for stem elongation and leaf expansion.

Explanation:

Note: All the macronutrients are essential for the growth and development of plants are needed and given above but micronutrients are also very important. They all are macronutrients except Zinc which is micronutrient comprising the odd one from the all above
