When an atom has an equal number of electrons and protons, it has an equal number of negative electric charges (the electrons) and positive electric charges (the protons). The total electric charge of the atom is therefore zero and the atom is said to be neutral

we know that the number of protons is equal to the number of electrons and protons are having positive charge and electrons are having negative charge as they are having the same number they cancel out and they are said to be neutral and every element or atom as a Unique Identity call the atomic number and atomic number cannot be same of two elements
