l = b + 5
area of rectangle is lb
so,
84 = (b + 5)b
84 = b^2 + 5b
b^2 + 5b - 84
b^2 + 12b - 7b - 84
b (b + 12) - 7 (b + 12)
(b - 7) or (b + 12)..... rejected because dist. can't be negative.
breadth is 7m
length is 7 + 5 = 12 m
perimeter of rectangle is 2 (l +b)
= 2 (12 + 7)
= 2 × 19
= 38 m
