hey !!!!!!! sorry if its wrong because I don't know right answer .... but i'll try it and if you get the right answer then also tell me please ,......!!!
if there a bonding between two atoms where one atom is having one lone pair of electrons , then if the lone pair electrons are donated to the vacant d orbitals this type of bonding is known as d-pi p pi bonding .....and as we know xe is a nobal gas and have electronic configuration ..5s^2 5p^6 and 5d orbital is empty and we know oxygen have have valency 6 of electron so maybe there is 3 d pi ppi bond in xeo3 and 2 in xeo4 ...........

Ur first abs is correct xeo3 has 3 .but xeo4 has 4 not 2.because hybridisation of xeo4 is sp3 thus in excitation state xe will have one e in s,3 e in p and 4e in d so leaving 4 unpaired e in d.which will later make d pi p pi bonding with o.

Answer:
The number of pi bonds in is 3.
The number of pi bonds is 4.
Explanation:
Pi bonds are formed due to the overlapping of p- orbitals with adjacent atoms. These atomic orbitals have zero electron density at a shared nodal plane that passes through the two bonded nuclei. The pi bonds are elongated which extends on both i.e. above and below the molecule. Pi bonds are the second bonds of the double bonds between the carbon atoms.
