There are many Meiocytes present in each ovule of the ovary.

Briefing:

a) Meiocyte is the diploid cell, which is mathematically represented as 2n.

b) Meiocyte has 24 chromosomes and each gamete contains 12 chromosomes.

c) As we know that there are two zygotes (2n) there will be a total of 24 chromosome numbers.

d) The union of 2 haploid gametes (n) develops diploid zygote(2n).

e) Therefore, the no. of chromosomes is 24, hence there are many Meiocytes present in each ovule of the ovary.
