number of molecules of SO₂ gas would be 1.2046 × 10²⁴

chemical reaction is ...

2Cu₂S + 3O₂ ⇒2Cu₂O + 2SO₂

given, no of moles of oxygen gas at STP = 3

we have to find number of molecules of SO₂ gas liberated in given reaction.

from above reaction, 3 moles of oxygen need to liberate 2 moles of sulphur dioxide gas.

so, number moles of of sulphur dioxide gas = 2

now number of molecules of SO₂ gas = 2 × Avogadro's number

= 2 × 6.023 × 10²³

= 12.046 × 10²³

= 1.2046 × 10²⁴
