Answer:

The main reason is that there is no atmosphere on moon so no water droplet can be formed on the surface of moon.

If you are talking about why we can't see the rainbow on earth's surface from moon's surface because rainbows are formed due to rain and you couldn't see it because you are above the clouds.

Therefore astronauts couldn't observe a rainbow while on moon's surface.

The rainbow is formed only if the atmosphere contain large number of tiny droplets of water suspended in the air. As moon has neither atmosphere nor water therefore no rainbow could not be observed .

Explanation -:

The rainbow is formed when the light is passing through water droplets then it convert into seven colors because of scattering of light but in moon rainbow is not formed because there is no atmospher, clouds , water droplets .
