a) As we can see the child is blowing out air that means the process of exhalation is being tested here.

Test tube A only has water present in it so CO2 which is exhaled out, does not chemically react and nothing will happen
In the second case
Lime water is present in the test tube and CO2 enters it, CO2 reacts with lime water - Ca(OH)₂ -and produce calcium carbonate - CaCO₃- which appears to be milky
