What is short circuiting? How does current gets a zero resistance path in short circuiting due to which heavy current passes through the live wire of the circuit.

A short circuit is an electrical circuit that allows a current to travel along an unintended path with no or a very low electrical impedance.

This results in an excessive amount of current flowing into the circuit.

Whereas the short-circuit condition occurs when the metal wires come in contact with each other or because of insulation failures.

The resistance of the devices during the short circuit becomes zero due to which the heavy current flow through the network.
