EMF = voltage drop + terminal voltage

so when the cell is provided with a current from a battery the voltage drop is negative I guess so that's why nominal voltage or terminal voltage is equal to the sum of EMF and voltage drop....

(not sure please correct if wrong)

kanwaljeetkaur637: How can voltage drop be negative?
leenabharti29: when the current in the electrolyte is not in use and dissociation of positive ions and electrons has failed to take place
