SOLUTION

BRO AS YOU SEE THE PREVIOUS SOLUTION IS QUITE LONG YOU KNOW WE DONT NEED SUCH SOLUTIONS BECAUSE PHYSICS IS ALL ABOUT HOW YOU KNOW THE CONCEPT BETTER THAN OTHER NOT HOW YOU SOLVE IT IN MORE BROAD WAY.

Initial angular velocity =

Let final linear velocity = v

And we know that if linear velocity is given than angular momentum can be written as m.v.r

APPLY LAW OF CONSERVATION OF ANGULAR MOMENTUM

Iw° = m.v.r

where I is the moment of inertia.

(2/7mr²) = m.v.r

(2/7r) = v......velocity when sphere stops slipping....

Initial linear velocity = 0

Final linear velocity = 2/7w°r

Acceleration = μg

Apply first EQ of motion

v = u + at

2/7w°r = 0 + μgt

time = 2w°r/7μg....stop slipping.

Why law of conversation of momentum works here in the presence of external

force ?

Because on both side (RHS and LHS) of law of conversation of momentum frictional force leaves the effect which is equal hence compulsate each other . Hence we don't need to add these effects.
