It is not possible to find the rise in water level unless radius of cylinder is provided. Hence I took radius of cylinder (R) as 4 cm.

Volume of ball = (4/3) πr^3

= (4/3) * π * (3)^3

= 36 π cm^2

Volume of water raised = 36 π cm^2

πR^2 * x = 36 π

x = 36 / R^2

x = 36 / (4)^2

x = 2.25 cm

Water will rise by 2.25 cm.
