(a) Each cell type has evolved a shape that is best related to its function. For example, the neuron in Figure below has long, thin extensions (axons and dendrites) that reach out to other nerve cells. The extensions help the neuron pass chemical and electrical messages quickly through the body.

(b) 1.Like a prokaryotic cell, a eukaryotic cell has a plasma membrane, cytoplasm, and ribosomes. However, unlike prokaryotic cells, eukaryotic cells have: a membrane-bound nucleus. numerous membrane-bound organelles (including the endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus, chloroplasts, and mitochondria)

2.The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is a large membrane-bound compartment spread throughout the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells. It is divided into three major morphologies that include the nuclear envelope (NE), peripheral ER cisternae, and an interconnected tubular network.
