New surface area of cube = 6 * (1.5x)^2 = 13.5x^2 square units.
Percentage increase in surface area =
((New Surace Area - Original Surface Area) /Original Surface Area) *100
= ((13.5x^2 - 6x^2)/6x^2) *100
= 125%
