Step-by-step explanation:

A quadrilateral is made up of four vertices.

If any three vertices are collinear then this means that they fall on the same straight line.

The fourth vertex will be outside this straight line.

When joining all the four points one will have a polygon with only three sides which will be a triangle and not a quadrilateral.

This contradicts the very definition and thus, we have, that a quadrilateral cannot have three vertices that are collinear.
