Answer:

A = {1,2,3,7}

B = {3,0,-1, 7}

A x B = {1,2,3} x {3, 0,-1, 7}

A x B = {(1,3) (1,0) (1,-1) (1,7) (2,3) (2, 0) (2, -1) (2, 7) (3, 3) (3,0) (3,-1) (3, 7) (7, 3) (7, 0) (7,-1) (7, 7)}

(i) R1 = {(2, 1)} (7, 1) It is not a relation, there is no element of (2, 1) and (7, 1) in A × B

(ii) R2 = {(-1),(1)} It is not a relation, there is no element of (-1, 1) in A × B

(iii) R3 = {(2,-1) (7, 7) (1,3)} Yes, It is a relation

(iv) R4 = {(7,-1) (0,3) (3, 3) (0,7)} It is not a relation, there is no element of (0, 3) and (0, 7) in A × B

Answer:

4 is the correct answer

Step-by-step explanation:

A = {1,2,3} and B= {-1,0,1}

Relation from A to B means . Element should belong to A× B.

A×B = { (1,-1) , (1,0) ,(1,1), (2,-1) , (2,0),(2,1),(3,-1),(3,0),(3,1) }

Note , A×B : { (a,b) | where, a belongs to A and b belongs to B}

Here you can see that 1,2,3 are the subset of A×B so, they are correct but 4 is not a subset of A×B.

As,A×B : { (a,b) | where, a belongs to A and b belongs to B}

but (1,3 ) doesn't belong to A×B . as 3 doesn't belong to B.
