Answer:

17.14 minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

Work done by nobita in 1 min= 1/40

Work done by Gian in 1 min= 1/30

Work done by both in 1 min = 1/30 + 1/40

= (3+4)/120

=7/120

Time taken by them to do the work together=120/7 minutes =17.14 minutes

Answer:

They will take 17 (1 / 7 )min.to complete the work if they work together.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Time taken by Nobita  to do a piece of work= 40 min.

Let the part of work done = 1

Part of work Nobita can do in 1 min.= 1 / 40

Time taken by Gian to the same piece of work = 30 min.

Part of work Gian can do in 1 min. = 1 /30

Part of work done by Nobita and Gian together in 1 min. = (1 / 40) + (1 / 30)

(L.C.M of 40 and 30 =120)

                                                                                          = (3 + 4 ) / 120

                                                                                           = 7 /120

Time Taken by Nobita and Gian to complete the work if they work together=1 ÷  (7 / 120 )

              =120 / 7 min.= 17 (1/7) min.
