Noble metals like Gold[Au] , silver [Ag] and Platinum [Pt] react in some conditions. Then why are they referred to as noble metals?

Au,Ag and Pt react under some conditions. They are chemically inert and they very rarely show chemical reactions. As we know that the noble gases also shows chemical reactions only under certain extreme conditions, but they are chemically inert. Thus they are known termed 'NOBLE'. Thus Au, Ag and Pt are referred to as noble metals
