War is the other name for destruction and suffering.

War does no good to anyone, only results in bloodshed, killing innocent people, loss of lives and properties and so on.

The two gentlemen of Verona lost their father and their home in the war in Germany.

They had the bear the ill-effects of war in the form of hardships, cold-weather and starvation.

Later they joined the resistance army but when they returned they found that their sister was suffering from tuberculosis.

Hence war took away a lot of valuable things from them.
