Chrysophyceae. Chrysophytes contain chlorophyll a, chlorophyll c, and are often called golden algae because of the presence of fucoxanthin, a yellowish-brown carotenoid pigment. Currently five Order level lineages are recognized with four of these being found mostly in freshwaters.
