In the vacant spaces between thyroid follicles there are clusters of Parafollicular cells or C-cells. The parafollicular cells secrete a non-iodized hormone called 'thyrocalcitonin' or calcitonin (TCT). licular cells secrete a non-iodized hormone called 'thyrocalcitonin' or calcitonin (TCT).
