Answer : The correct option is, (4) C_4H_{10}

Explanation :

Sooty flame : Unsaturated carbon compounds do not burn completely and give a flame with unburnt burnt carbon particles. Such a flame has yellow color and It is called sooty flame.

Non-sooty flame : Saturated carbon compounds burn completely and give a clear blue flame. This is called non-sooty flame.

Saturated hydrocarbon : It is a hydrocarbon that contain only single bonds between carbon atoms. The general formula of saturated hydrocarbon is, C_nH_{2n+2}

Unsaturated hydrocarbon : It is a hydrocarbon that contain double and triple bonds between carbon atoms.

The general formula of unsaturated double bond hydrocarbon is, C_nH_{2n}

The general formula of unsaturated triple bond hydrocarbon is, C_nH_{2n-2}

In the given options,

C_4H_{10} is a saturated hydrocarbon

C_4H_6 is a unsaturated hydrocarbon

C_5H_{10} is a unsaturated hydrocarbon

C_6H_6 is a cyclic unsaturated hydrocarbon

Hence, the non sooty flame will be expected from C_4H_{10}.
