The number of Fe3+ ions replacing x Fe2+ ions = 2x/3 vacancies of the cations  

The molecule is neutral therefore net positive = net negative

= x − 2x/3 =x/3  

But x/3 =1−0.94

=0.06,

x = 0.06×3  

= 0.18

= 18%

Thus, the ions replaced are 18%
