Noni can paint his garage in 3 1⁄2 hours while his friend Anton can paint it in 4 hours. If they work together, if they started at 4:00 P.M. at what time they will finish the said job?

Time taken by Noni = 3 .5 hr

Work done by

Noni in 1 hr = 1 / 3.5

Time taken by friend = 4 hr

Work done = 1/4

When they work

Together = 1 / 3.5 + 1 /4

= 4 + 3.5 / 14

= 0.536

Time taken = 1 / 0.536

= 1.86 hr
