Perhydrol is a solution of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) at a concentration of 30% of weight by volume(w/v) or 100 volume strength. Perhydrol. A strong oxidizing agent used in aqueous solution as a ripening agent, bleach, and topical anti-infective.

I hope it can help you...

Given:

Perhydrol solution of Hydrogen Peroxide.

To Find:

The normality of the perhydrol solution of H2O2.

Calculation:

- Perhydrol solution means 30% w/v solution of H2O2.

- Let the volume of solution (V) be 100 ml.

⇒ The mass of H2O2, w = 30 gm

- Molarity = (w × 1000)/(M.wt × V)

⇒ M = (30 × 1000)/(34 × 100)

⇒ M = 8.823 M

- For H2O2, n = 2

- Normality = Molarity × n

⇒ N = 8.823 × 2

⇒ N = 17.65 N

- So, the Normality of perhydrol solution is 17.65 N.
