Mr Donald's work wasn't much hardworking so he could play happily with his kids but Kezia's father worked very hard and didn't play well with her and was strict with her but he was kind and affectionate with her as he took care of her when her mother was and ill and when her grandmother wasn't there in the home and she had the same nightmare.Though both the fathers are kind and affectionate in different ways that she reaized in the end of the story

Kezia's father was harsh in attitude. He used to point mistake of Kezia and also never spent his time with her. Due to his this behavior, Kezia felt that his father was figured to be fear and neglected. She started avoiding her father and thought her father had no love for her.
But the night when she saw a nightmare in her dream, she got scare and frightened. At that time her father took her into his arms and took her into bedroom. He gave her protection and care when she really needed it. That day she realised that her father loved her but never expressed it because his day went in work to give comforts to his family.
In opposites, the Macdonald's family lived next to the door. They had five children and their father used to play with his children. They laughed and enjoyed together. Macdonald was a kindhearted father who loved and care for his children.
I opine that both the father's loved there children equally and wanted their children to be successful in life.
However, I support behavior of Macdonald:s father because his behavior was more kind than Kezia's father but we can't state Kezia's father rude. Because at the end of story " The Little Girl", the narrator her self said that her father loved her a lot and gave her protection and care when she was frightened.
Hope it helps
