Each kidney is about 160 grams in mass and both of them filters 180 liters of fluid (blood) every day in 24 hour span.

It helps in excreting almost one and half lire of urine every day from body.  As average person runs with 1 to 1½ gallons of blood in his/her body.

Both the kidneys can filter that amount of blood at least 40 times in a day.
