normally 'union' means 'or' and ' intersection' means 'and'.(In case of sets) But suppose an arbitrary element x does not belong to A 'union' B. So does it mean x does not belong to A 'or' B or A 'and' B?
(In many books the union and intersection meanings stands for 'and' and 'or' in case of does not belong to and i am confused)

Answer:

If x does not belong to A u B that means A is not an element in either of the sets A & B

So x does not belong to A & B

Step-by-step explanation:

If x does not belong to A n B that means A is not an element of A or B or Both

So in this case x does not belong to A or B (or Both A & B)
