Given:-

  • Mass of the box = 2.3 kg
  • Force exerted by Mr Norman = 40 N
  • Force exerted by Mr Kiko = 32 N

To Find: Acceleration of the box.

Here,

Net force = (Force exerted by Mr Norman) - (Force exerted by Mr Kiko)

or,

Net Force = 40 N - 32 N

= 8 N

We know,

F = ma

a = F/m

where,

  • a = Acceleration,
  • F = Force &
  • m = Mass.

so,

a = (8 N)/(2.3 kg)

→ a = (8 kg m/s²)/(2.3 kg)

→ a = (8 m/s²)/(2.3)

→ a = 3.47 m/s² (Approx.)

Thus, the acceleration of the box was of 3.47 m/.
