It is assumed that the period in reference here is 800 – 1200 CE.
Northern India was ruled by several powerful dynasties during this period. They include the Paramara dynasty which ruled West Central India, Yadava empire which covered the modern-day Maharashtra and parts of Karnataka, the Chalukyas of Gujarat and Lohara kings who ruled Kashmir, to name a few.
The collective economy during this period was said to be the largest in the world. Education, philosophy and art forms flourished as a result of the patronage extended by most of the rulers.
