North Pole of a magnet can be identified by using another magnet having the poles marked as North and South.

  • The poles of the magnet can be identified by using the different poles of a marked magnet.
  • This can be done with the help of the concept that Like pole repel and unlike poles attract.
  • When we bring the poles of both magnet, the poles that are opposite to each other will attract.
  • That is the North pole of the first magnet will repel towards the North pole of another magnet and attracts towards the south pole of that magnet.
  • Likewise the south pole of the first magnet will repel with the same pole of other magnet and attracts towards the north pole of the other magnet.
  • By doing these experiment we can easily identify the poles of magnet.
  • The Repulsion test is done for identifying the poles .
